Even though Ethan is only 4 years old -- he quotes movies! "Smiles all around, now let's get out of here!" is a line from the movie Bolt and I hear that about 20 times a day...
Every time he quote it I can't help but SMILE...
I've been trying to keep a smile on my face, but it has been a long haul without Micah. Every time we are apart like this we agree we can never, ever do it again... then we do it again...
crazy us!
The past week we've been working on Christmas presents...
and just a few days ago I got them all mailed (miracles do happen)!
The kids worked hard on ornaments for all their Uncles and Aunts... I was going to put a note in the boxes that said, "Hanging the ornaments on your tree is optional"... they were ... um ... colorful!! Let's just say there was so much color and glitter on each one that there was no way you could tell what the picture was! But I reasoned if it was from my nephew or niece it would be on the Christmas tree (1/2 of the ornaments on my tree are from Sam and Seth - and I love um!!)

Christmas Fudge... YUM!
I got through my annual fudge-a-thon... I made enough for all my family members! My favorite kind was a dark chocolate merlot! It was fabulous! I tried some at a farmer's market and knew I had to give it a go! I think next time I will try a drier merlot, but this one was mellow and soft... ah!
In the midst of Christmas making we have been waging wars at the table. For some reason the kiddos feel like it is their right to "hate" anything I set in front of them. Not sure if it is a "missing Dadda" thing or just that good old sin nature rearing its ugly head. I've tried to get creative... but some little guy has gone to his room several times a dinner... It is not okay to complain about food in this house!
Unfortunately, little Bit follows whatever her brother does... so I often hear, "This is N A S T Y!"
Oh, my nerves... let me tell you!

Eden reading stories to Grampie!
Grampie and Grammie have been a HUGE blessing... they have been helping out a lot!
17 days without Micah has felt like an eternity and I have so enjoyed their company!

Can't tell if there was more glitter on Eden's face or on her project?
Miss Eden... loves decorating her face as much as her art work...

If only he could be this focused on eating his veggies?
And Mr Ethan gets so focused when he is working on a project!

The fabulous "Simulator"...
Ethan checked out a movie from the library on firer fighting. There were some simulator airplanes that the firemen used to learn how to put out an airplane fire. Ethan felt it was very important to make one.
Grammie helped Ethan build this giant "simulator" airplane.
Amazing what you can make out of cardboard boxes!

A future floral designer?
Only 2 days til Micah gets home... we are decorating the house for his arrival... I can't wait!

Coloring with Grammie!
But while I wait I'm trying to keep the kiddos busy with lots of different projects!
It is kinda working, but I am tired!
So "smiles all around"... now it's time for me to get out of here and get the kiddos to bed!

We had that exact same "battle" tonight at dinner!! Granted, it's been a while since we've had to deal with one of those, but it was a battle! We won, but it was ugly. I hate those!! I'm with ya though, I'm not a short-order cook and what's in front of you is what's for dinner. (Our guy actually had the audacity to take a bite and then spit it out on his plate after he had already been talked to a few times. Um..NOT acceptable.)
Soooo...that fudge sounds amazing!! Recipe please?! (The Merlot one)
Super cute post as always! I'm so glad Micah will be home soon, and I do believe it's almost someone's birthday!! ;)
love ya friend--
